When a contract is unpaid, a partner walks away, or a judgment needs to be executed, the file is no longer advisory. UAEAZ conducts civil and commercial disputes for individuals and companies across the Emirates — from the first legal notice to appeal, cassation and enforcement.
Court representation is carried out by advocates licensed to appear before the relevant court and level of jurisdiction. The rest of the file — evidence, translations, settlement and enforcement — is prepared with the same care.
Civil and commercial claims
Typical instructions include:
- contractual and payment disputes
- compensation and damages claims
- business and partnership disputes
- insurance claims
- construction and supply disagreements
- legal notices and without-prejudice settlement
- appeals and cassation where the first judgment is wrong
We start with the documents, the limitation period, and the forum that actually has jurisdiction — onshore courts, DIFC, ADGM, or an arbitration clause you may already have signed.
Debt recovery
Unpaid invoices, bounced cheques, rent arrears and loan defaults are a large part of UAE commercial life. We send the demand that can later be shown to a court, negotiate a structured settlement where that is realistic, and issue proceedings where it is not. Recovery is not a slogan. It is a sequence of notices, filings and execution steps.
Arbitration and mediation
Many commercial contracts send disputes to DIAC, ADCCAC, ICC or an ad hoc seat. We advise on whether that clause is enforceable, how to commence, and how to convert an award into something a UAE execution judge will recognise. Mediation is used where both sides still have a relationship worth keeping.
All levels of court
UAEAZ prepares and, through licensed advocates, conducts appearances at first instance, appeal and cassation — federal and local — according to the emirate and the nature of the claim. Execution files (attachment, travel measures, enforcement of judgments) are treated as part of the same matter, not an afterthought.
Selected further work
Where the facts require it, we also advise on administrative challenges, intellectual property and licensing disputes, and personal-injury or professional-negligence claims. Availability depends on the documents, the court and a conflict check.
If a claim, award or execution file is already moving, contact UAEAZ with the last order, the contract, and any deadline printed on the papers.
Abu Dhabi, Dubai and worldwide
This practice is available to clients in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and the northern Emirates, and to clients instructing UAEAZ from overseas by email or video. Court advocacy is conducted by licensed advocates before the relevant UAE court and level. Advice is given in Arabic and English.
To instruct counsel, send a short outline of the facts, any deadline, and the papers you have via our consultation form. An enquiry does not create a client relationship until we confirm the engagement in writing.
